We will begin this unit with a very simple project that will help you review ecological concepts learned in your middle school science classes.  You will be taking a "field trip" to observe an ecosystem of your choice.  While doing so, you will complete the ecological field trip assignment designed by Dr/ Judy Small of Albert Einstein High School.  However, you will only be collecting the information and not completing the final assignment.  We will review biochemical reactions such as photosynthesis and cellular respiration and how they are interdependent.   Finally, you will be exploring how these reactions play a role in the functioning of the ecosystem you studied.  You will then be i of your incorporating this information into a project of your choice.
